Streaming video giant Netflix recently shocked the entertainment industry by reporting the loss of 200,000 subscribers in the first quarter of 2022. The company had previously forecast a increase of 2.5 million subscribers for this period.

Why are so many users leaving Netflix? The decline of Covid-19 pandemic restrictions is a major reason – people once restricted to streaming video at home now have more entertainment options available like dining out, attending concerts or watch movies in the cinema.

Inflation also does not help Netflix. The high cost of food and gasoline has families who cut other expenses, and The Netflix Price Rise in early 2022 may have drawn attention to it as a potential budget cut.

In his Letter to shareholders Q1 2022the company mentioned the war in ukraine as a major contributor to subscriber loss. Netflix maintains that suspension of his service in Russia resulted in a net loss of 700,000 subscribers worldwide.

Instead, you’ll need to use your web browser of choice to cancel your Netflix account:

1. Go to Netflix.com on your web browser and log in to your account. If you are redirected to the app, access the Netflix website in a private browser, which prevents the redirect.

2. Press the three-dash menu at the top left to open the side menu.

3. Now knock Account.

4. Scroll down and tap Cancel Membership, which you will find under Membership and billing. The next page will inform you that your cancellation will be effective at the end of your current billing period.

5. To cancel your Netflix subscription, press the blue Complete Undo button.
