The big PS5 update with long-awaited storage expansions arrives on September 15th

Sony Senior Vice President Hideaki Nishino spoke about the update that will be released worldwide on September 15 in a PlayStation blog post today and thanked everyone who participated in the beta update for testing the features that will be available tomorrow.

Starting tomorrow, gamers will be able to download, copy and launch PS5 and PS4 games, as well as multimedia applications, directly from M.2 SSD expandable storage. But gamers are warned that the SSD should meet the minimum system requirements, and it is recommended to use efficient heat dissipation with cooling structure.

Another important addition in the update is 3D audio support for the built-in TV speakers, which transforms the standard audio from two-channel TV speakers into three-dimensional sound.
