Square Enix London Mobile is working on new titles, including an unannounced RPG

Square Enix London Mobile (SELM) recently revealed via a tweet that it is developing a new, unnamed RPG for mobile devices. The social media post asked participants to participate in a closed beta test without mentioning its title or gender. A release date has not been disclosed.

The only information about the upcoming mobile title is that it will be an RPG, which is what Square Enix is best known for. To register for the test, volunteers will need to pass a short survey request a full name, contact details, country of residence, English proficiency and phone model. If chosen, an email will be sent to them with a link for the test. Until then, the public can only speculate what the game will be like. Given Square Enix’s reputation for RPG games such as Final Fantasyit can be expected to be fresh and exciting.

Square Enix revealed SELM at the end of last year as a division intended to focus on free-to-play games for Android and Apple iOS devices. With that announcement came the unveiling of updates to two of its titles, Avatar: The Last Airbender and Tomb Raider Reloaded. The latter should be released in 2022 under development by Emerald City Games. Tomb Raider Reloaded will be the first of its kind to feature roguelike gameplay. According to SELM’s official website, the studio is keen to “keep certain things under wraps”, but has announced its Avatar and Tomb Raider games. Since the studio revealed the titles of these 2 games, it is likely that the closed beta will not concern either of them.
