LECTURE, United Kingdom – (BUSINESS WIRE) – December 7, 2021–
Mavenir, the networking software provider that is building the future of networking with cloud-native software that runs on any cloud and transforms the way the world connects, today announced that T-Mobile became the first operator in the Czech Republic to allow customers who own smartwatches to connect to their existing mobile number.
T-Mobile’s connected watch connection The service has Mavenir’s SDC, integrated as an extension of its IMS capabilities. Mavenir’s SDC, which includes Certified Rights Server (ES) functionality, offers flexible rights management and manages access rights to mobile devices. It allows customers to exchange messages and make or receive voice calls directly on their smartwatch without being connected to their main device. The capacity was commissioned in June 2021.
Mavenir’s SDC orchestrates the authentication, provisioning and binding of the smartwatch to the customer’s mobile number, allowing it to operate independently of the main device. Mavenir supports multiple brands of smart devices, making it a single product for providing one-number services. T-Mobile’s smartwatch connection service supports voice communication using VoLTE or VoWi-Fi. In the Czech Republic, T-Mobile’s IMS, VoLTE and VoWi-Fi are all based on Cloud native IMS Mavenir solutions.
âSDC is the perfect complement for portable devices,â said Brandon Larson, senior vice president and general manager of Mavenir’s multimedia business unit. âWe are delighted with how quickly Mavenir has been able to deploy an IMS capability that adds such tangible value for T-Mobile and its smartphone / smartwatch customers in the Czech Republic. “
“We are proud that T-Mobile is the first operator in the Czech Republic to launch a connection service that allows full use of what is widely regarded as the most technologically advanced smartwatch, even beyond the reach of ‘a paired smartphone,’ said Michal Podlucký, residential segment manager of T-Mobile in the Czech Republic.
Using the service with T-Mobile is extremely user-friendly. Customers can easily pair the watch and activate the service directly in the watch app on the smartphone and use both devices at the same time, or completely independently of each other. Customers who activate the service within one year of the official launch will receive the first three months for free. T-Mobile has also prepared a discounted watch offering for all T-Mobile customers who activate or extend the current contract.
Mavenir is building the future of pioneering advanced networks and technologies, focusing on the vision of a single, software-based automated network that runs on any cloud. As the only provider of end-to-end, cloud-native networking software, Mavenir is focused on transforming the way the world connects, accelerating the transformation of software networks for more than 250 communications service providers in over 120 countries, which serve over 50% of the world’s subscribers. www.mavenir.com
