How SBI Retirees Can Submit Life Certificate Through Website and Mobile App

The State Bank of India (SBI) has launched a Video Life Certificate (VLC) service for retirees through which they can submit their Life Certificate or Jeevan Pramaan from the comfort of their own homes without physically visiting the branch. In order to continue to receive their pension, retired civil servants are required to submit their life certificate each November.

“Video life certificates made easy. Now even family retirees can avail the services through the SBI Pension Seva mobile app or website,” SBI had tweeted on November 7.

How to make a video call for VLC?

Pension Seva website:> and click on “VideoLC”

PensionSeva mobile application: click on the “Video life certificate” button on the home screen.

Steps required to submit VLC

1) The retirement must visit the SBI PensionSeva website and click on the “VideoLC” link at the top.

2) Enter the account number (in which the pension is credited) and the CAPTCHA (not required for the mobile application), check the box to authorize the Bank to use Aadhaar data for VLC and click on the button “Validate the account”.

3) If eligible for VLC, OTP will be sent to a mobile number linked to Aadhaar. Enter the Prosecutor’s Office.

4) In the event of successful validation, the retiree will be asked to confirm the mandatory certificates (self-declared) by ticking the boxes.

5) Submit all mandatory (self-declared) certificates listed in the drop-down list and click “Continue” button to be redirected to VLC landing page.

6) Follow the instructions given on the VLC site and allow the required permissions on the device.

7) The Retiree is free to wait or make an appointment for a future available slot.

8) If the ‘schedule a call’ option is chosen, an appointment must be made by selecting a suitable date and time slot and then clicking the Schedule button.

9) The retiree will receive a confirmation for the selected appointment slot. An SMS and email will also be sent to the pensioner’s registered mobile number and email address respectively.

10) The retiree can join the video call 5 minutes before the start of the scheduled date and time. The retiree will have the option of rescheduling again, at their convenience.

11) The retiree will have to wait for a bank official to connect with him.

12) The bank manager will see the status and once the bank manager joins the session, the retiree will be redirected to the declaration page and asked to agree to the applicable terms and conditions.

13) If the terms and conditions are acceptable to the retiree, the retiree will mark their consent via a checkbox and click start video call. The Retiree will then be directed to the next screen which will be the waiting room where the Bank official will join.

14) After joining the video session, the retiree will need to read the verification code during the call.

15) The retiree will be asked to show his PAN card. If the retiree visits the site via a mobile device, the rear camera will automatically turn on.

16) After verification of the PAN by the manufacturer, the retiree will be asked to hold the camera so that the face can be captured clearly by the bank officer.

17) The retiree will then reach the end of the session and see the message that the information has been saved.

18) The pensioner will be informed of the status by SMS on his registered telephone number.
