Game Day: blue-white match 2022 scheduled for Saturday

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pennsylvania. – The Blue-White Game 2022 presented by Highmark will begin at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 23. Big Ten Network will broadcast the event live with Rick Pizzo (play-by-play), Matt Millen (color analyst) and Matt McGloin (sideline reporter) calling the action.

The parking lots will open at 9 a.m. Admission to the Blue-White Game is free. Fans will enter through Gates A & B, which will open at 12:30 p.m.

Blue-White Promenade Fan Festival

The Blue-White Boardwalk Fan Fest, Penn State’s official football game day fan festival, includes carnival games, free carnival rides like a Ferris wheel and giant slide, a photo booth, paint facial, a balloon twister, a cartoonist and food. The blue-white promenade opens at 9 a.m. and runs until 2 p.m. and will be located on Curtin Road across from Beaver Stadium. Carnival games will only accept cash, food vendors accept cash and credit cards. The 2022 Spring Football Schedule Poster will be distributed prior to the game at the Blue White Boardwalk Marketing Table, while supplies last.

Car park

All parking passes, regular vehicle and RV, for the Blue-White Game will be mobile. Mobile parking passes have been added to the accounts of 2022 season parking pass holders who renewed before the February 18 renewal deadline. Mobile parking passes are transferable to other fans. Please note that the lot numbers shown on mobile parking passes are simply reserved space numbers and are not the prescribed lot for the pass holder to park as parking is general admission and first come, first served.

Normal game day traffic patterns are not in effect for the blue-white game. Parking will be general admission in select lots near Beaver Stadium and will always be filled. The Blue-White Game car parks can be accessed here. There is reserved ADA parking in lots 18, 41 and 31.

Fans who attend the Blue-White game without mobile parking passes will be charged $20 per regular vehicle on the day of the event, or can purchase regular vehicle parking passes online at https://am .ticketmaster.com/pennstate/bluewhiteparking. Credit cards and cash will be accepted. RV parking passes will not be sold in advance.

RV parking is limited to overnight RV parking. RV Field Passes will only be distributed to 2022 Season RV Passholders. If RV Season Passholders arrive with a blue- white on Fridays, they will only owe $40 with free access on Saturdays. Those without the RV pass will be charged $60 when arriving on Saturday and $100 if arriving on Friday and staying two nights.

Mobile parking passes will only be used for the 2022 Bleu-Blanc game. Mobile parking will not be available for the regular season as visible parking permits are required for traffic to assigned lots.

Game format and scoring

  • This year’s Blue-White game will be a scrimmage, attack versus defense format. Offense will wear white, while defense will wear blue.
  • Quarterbacks will wear light blue.
  • The scrum will be divided into eight segments in total.
  • The score for the scrimmage will be as follows:
    • Defense
      • 7 points for a defensive touchdown
      • 2 points for a safety
      • 3 points for a recovered fumble
      • 3 points for an interception
      • 2 points for a 3&out
      • 2 points for a bag
      • 1 point for forcing a punt

    • Offense
      • 6 points for a touchdown
      • 1 point for an extra point
      • 3 points for a field goal

The Blue-White Game is Penn State University’s unofficial annual spring meeting. In 2019, around 61,000 fans attended. The Blue-White Game has attracted more than 60,000 fans in seven of the past eight years, including crowds of 70,000 or more in four of the past six years.
