CSG offers mobile management with Microsoft Intune to 6000 users

Systems integrator and cloud consultancy Cloud Solutions Group (CSG) has announced the delivery of an integrated mobile device and access management solution for John Holland Group, a leading construction services provider. , tunnels, railways and construction services in Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia.

The new solution supports 6,000 employees using the Microsoft Intune platform. It ensures corporate data is protected on all corporate-owned iOS and Android mobile devices, and on all corporate data accessed through personal devices.

“We needed a mobile device management solution that our IT team could easily manage while protecting corporate data on both corporate and employee-owned devices,” says Kier. Morrison, general manager of IT operations at John Holland Group.

“Over 300 legacy devices needed to be reset and migrated, and policies standardized or implemented consistently. It quickly became clear that CSG would be the best fit for our needs. We could see that their services and technical expertise could provide the level of functionality we needed to evolve to match our continued growth in the future.

“Specifically, we were impressed with CSG’s in-depth knowledge of a suite of device management solutions and their vast knowledge of Microsoft 365 and its available features, which allows us to get the most out of licensing agreements. of our customers.”

Morrison says CSG defined the individual use cases that should be addressed by the solution from the start. These included corporate-owned Android and iOS devices (kiosk style and user affinity) and unmanaged personal devices. He says CSG then designed basic compliance policies, configuration profiles, and app deployments for each device. App protection policies have also been introduced to prevent corporate data from being stored outside the defined location, including SharePoint and OneDrive for Business.

CSG used its experience in device management to automate the application of all these policies to each use case through a combination of Apple’s Device Enrollment Program, Samsung Knox and Microsoft Intune.

“One of the biggest benefits was a process for re-enrolling legacy devices into a supported system and preventing other devices from functioning outside of the managed solution,” says Josh Rubens, CEO and Founder of Cloud Solutions Group .

“To do this, we scheduled migration sessions with relevant personnel. Additionally, to better protect data, we introduced several conditional access policies that would block unapproved applications, such as third-party email clients. This would prevent users from only being able to use the approved app to access John Holland data and apply MFA if necessary.”

A phased roll-out approach proved successful, as the suite of policies was phased in on time and within budget.

“CSG, working with John Holland, provided a clear and concise communication plan that ensured the changes we made were widely accepted by our employees,” Morrison said.

“We now have a solution that provides fully automated configuration of all new Android and iOS devices and protects corporate data on all mobile devices. At the same time, while our change management experience ensures that the he IT team is empowered to successfully deploy change to end users, I am confident that we have a powerful and adaptable platform that will support our operations for years to come. We view CSG as a valuable business partner and trust.
