AWS private 5G will allow businesses to set up and scale private mobile networks within days, according to Selipsky, who explained that AWS will send customers the hardware, software and SIM cards needed to build it.

Most businesses use wired Ethernet or Wi-Fi LANs for connectivity, but the explosion in the number of devices has put a strain on these systems. Efforts to create mobile networks are also complicated by the need for telecommunications expertise and mazes of partnerships or suppliers.

Selipsky said customers will need to say where they want the network to be built and the capacity they need before the service is activated and automatically configured. The service is available in preview now in the United States.

“It sets up a mobile network that can cover anything from your head office to a large campus to a factory or warehouse. You just have to insert the SIM cards into your device, and alto , it’s all connected, ”Selipsky told the re: Invent the Audience 2021.

“Ordering additional capacity, provisioning additional devices, or managing access permissions can all be done easily using the AWS console. The CEO of AWS added that the service was designed to allow businesses to start small and grow as needed with pay-as-you-go pricing.

In a declaration, AWS explained that it will supply and maintain the small cellular radio units, servers, 5G core and radio access network (RAN) software, as well as the SIM cards needed to set up a private 5G network and connect devices. devices.

“Many corporate networks are constrained by increasing growth in users, devices and application demands.
